[Lager vor Prag, 16. Mai 1757.]46-5

. . Two days ago the King of Prussia told me he had now found a medium that would do, which is, when Prague is taken, to declare the Prince of Hesse governor, but he desired that this might be kept secret.

<47>

I have communicated to the King of Prussia the contents of Your Lordship's letter apart of the 29th April concerning the desire of the Landgrave of Hesse of a more specific guaranty for his dominions47-1 than what is contiined in the treaty of 1755.47-2 His Prussian Majesty said, as His Serene Highness had resisted all the temptations of France and behaved with great firmness, he would very willingly agree to give a farther guaranty and was ready, as soon as the Landgrave had explained himself fully and he, King of Prussia, had a little more leisure, in conjunction with His Majesty, to enter into engagements for that purpose.“

Vgl. Nr. 8957.
