10633. UNTERREDUNG DES KÖNIGS MIT DEM GROSSBRITANNISCHEN MINISTER MITCHELL.
[Breslau, Januar 1759.]
Mitchell berichtet an Holdernesse, Breslau 2. Januar: „When I spoke to His Prussian Majesty upon the affair of the Hessians, he said he believed the difficulties arose chiefly from the diffidence the Hessian<4> ministers had of the Hereditary Prince, that he had given leave to General Donop (who had most credit with the Prince) to come to Breslaw, that, as the keeping of the Hereditary Prince steady in the alliance was of the utmost importance, he thought that, if I was empowered to say and to do some civil things in His Majesty's name to the Hereditary Prince, it might be of the greatest Utility at this time to fix him unalterably in the alliance, in case the Landgrave should happen to die.“ 4-1
